TESTIMONIALS
There are a few people (if any others at all) I respect.
Steve Michalik sits at the top of the list. The respect
that I have for Steve was earned. He trained and lived
bodybuilding and it showed me what discipline and focus
could do. Very few people will ever learn and understand
that. I was blessed to have Steve Michalik in my life
and show me the way. He made me truly unique. Steve
always traveled a different path than the others and
I learned to make my own path by following his example.
My path is unique and the people that follow mw have
done well. Most people choose not to travel my path
because it is bumpy and rough and not the easy way.
The easy way is not the best and the best path is not
always the easiest to follow. Whether I am liked or
disliked no longer matters. I have learned a lesson
that Steve tried to teach me twenty years ago...there
are so few friends, only acquaintances. Both Steve and
I (thanks to Steve) have made our mark. There are many
people who will remember us for years to come: the eccentric
Michalik and DeFendis - two maniacs who did things their
way. They were both champions who created champions.
They both helped many people attain goals and most of
all... they did it with PASSION. Yes Mr. America, we
did good, regardless of what our critics think. After
all, the critics are just the wannabe's who never had
a plan themselves and never amounted to anything themselves.
Be proud of who you are and what you have done for many
people, Michalik. You are and will always be great in
my eyes! You have instilled in me the true meaning of
CHAMPION! There are very few left. God bless you.
Love & Respect,
John Defendis Mr. USA

Steve Michalik has been my personal trainer for the
past 15 years, and I plan on keeping him for the next
30. In fact, I am sure that the reason I'll be around
and active for the next 30 years is because of the work
I've done, and will continue to do, with Steve.
By the way, I am 66 years old and would never trade
how I look and feel today for how I looked and felt
at the age of 51 when I first met Steve. Under his expert
guidance, I've been able to keep my weight down and
increase and maintain muscle tone with a diet and exercise
program that is both manageable and fun.
As President of the New York METS, I have seen a host
of training and diet regimes from more organizations
and personal trainers than I'd like to remember. There
is one reason why I've stood by Steve all these years;
he is the best at what he does. And as Yogi Berra once
said, "Baseball is 90% mental, the other half is
physical" Besides improving my physical appearance
and stamina, his program has left me feeling more mentally
alert and sharp.
In addition to my partnership in the METS, as a partner
in real estate, private equity, media and an investment
business, also all the boards and charitable organizations
I am involved with, I play an important leadership role
in an organization that is more near and dear to me
than anything else -my family. As the grandfather of
a rapidly expanding clan, there's a lot to be done;
babies to play with, son and sons-in-law to play tennis
with, daughters and daughter-in-law to plan family outings
and vacations with, etc. And right now, none of them
can keep up with me!
Steve's approach is all about excellence, about finding
the best in each client and helping each client to demand
the best from him or herself. He has taught me what
I like to call the "habits of health" –
and because he can't be with me all the time, it is
these habits that have kept me on his program all these
years. This philosophy is tried and true; indeed, Aristotle
beat him when he said: "Excellence is an art won
by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because
we have virtue or excellence, but we rather have those
because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly
do.
Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit."
It is therefore with great confidence I recommend Steve
Michalik and his approach to fitness and health to anyone
looking to improve their quality of life.
Sincerely,
Saul B. Katz
President
New York Mets National League Baseball Club
Steve,
It's nice to see you are doing what you love.
I wanted to remind you that you also helped us, Wayne
and myself, to co-host the Czechoslovakian IFBB Mr.
Universe Bodybuilding Team with the President of the
Sports Federation and his assistant. They lived with
us because the their Country gave the team $100 for
expenses. At that time the money exchange rate was $1
US to $7. Czech dollars. So when they went to the hotel
at JFK, their money ran out in one night. Thus, we got
a desparate call from the Team Manager.
Remember, they did not want to go home? You spoiled
them with your knowledge and your hardcore gym? When
we all went to A High School in Queens, NY where my
sister taught? One of them was caught kissing one of
the girls under the bleachers?
You were an Ambassador representing the USA to make
the Czechoslovakian Sports Federation Team feel secure
and not miss their training. This is the same federation
that trains all Olympic Athletes. I feel this is important
for your website for people to see.

As time marches on for me, I can count on both hands
all the individuals that truly have made a difference
in my life. One of them is Steve Michalik, a soft spoken
giant of an individual. It is odd that our paths would
cross in the first place. I have been weight training
in one way or another for many years and could never
fully understand the need for trainers. I have taken
a hundred eighty degree turn from that belief. Steve
changed all that for me and from what I can see for
anyone else willing to listen. Of the hard core group
that trains to-be champions, Steve and his training
methods seem to be heaven sent. The mere mention of
his name seems to bring smiles to the faces of the people
he trains.
My first meeting with him was to elucidate my goals
for weight training and he told me to look around the
gym. Many of these people are here to train, but hardly
any of them will ever benefit the way they could. I
knew he was right because most of them hardly ever did
change, myself included. It seemed that most people
there were willing to put in the time, but possibly
not the energy required to make the strides they seem
to seek. Steve's approach was simple - intensity. Intensity
for me does have a different meaning than to Steve who
became Mr. America and Mr. Universe thirty plus years
ago. That is a feat given to only one individual a year,
like the Nobel Prize. Once attained, it can never be
taken away. Steve would do it all over again ifhe could
and hates the mere mention of the word can't. He has
honed his discipline skills to such a point that he
still has the mental discipline to win any contest.
He has taken his laser beam that was turned inward and
began turning it outward to benefit those fortunate
enough to cross his path.
Steve is great to train with. I have a long way to go,
but I believe I am enjoying the journey more than the
ultimate destination. Steve is able to size people up
very fast and does not approach his clients with a cookie
cutter mentality. He definitely has tailored my program
to my abilities and increases the level of intensity
as I progress. The workout is strenuous but not time
consuming, and with my busy life this is a real benefit.
I can tell you that I feel like a million bucks after
the workout.
Steve's moral compass is directed in all the right directions.
His great spirituality, combined with his affability
and huge base of knowledge makes training more than
just exercise. My mind has grown along with some skeletal
muscle. If anyone wants to feel endorphins do their
magic, spend forty five minutes with Steve Michalik.
I am proud to call him my trainer, friend and mentor.
His great ability to turn dreams into reality is awe
inspiring and to those around him, infectious.
Alan Cohen, M.D.

In 1980, I was a 22 year old aerospace engineer who
did not even shave yet when I walked into Mr. America's
gym, located in Farmingdale, NY. Behind the counter
was the most muscular man I had ever seen. This person
was Steve Michalik. He had muscles where I thought muscles
did not exist. His enormous arms, chest and shoulders
gave him the appearance of an action figure. It quickly
became clear to me that his strongest muscles were not
beneath his neck. Once he spoke I knew that he was not
just another muscle head. He communicated in such an
articulate manner, with much thought and sincerity.
I remember asking him if working out with weights produced
tightness and he said, "Absolutely not. People
who walk around like that are just acting". He
said that there was a study of Olympic athletes revealing
that weight lifters were second behind gymnasts in terms
of greatest flexibility and both are extremely muscular.
Now that I am a Chiropractor, I share this story with
all my patients when this question is asked of me.
Oddly enough, our paths crossed again 24 years later.
I started to practice in a gym where Steve trained people
and got to know him personally as I eventually began
treating him. We shared insightful conversations during
that time and I had the opportunity to learn much about
who he is. Steve trains many people, from amateurs to
pros, for bodybuilding competitions. I've seen Steve
take these individuals through a complete metamorphosis
naturally, in a matter of months. He has transformed
the bodies of ordinary people into enviable, award-winning
physiques. Steve has a remarkable talent for generating
enthusiasm, happiness, self-discipline, and enjoyment
among all of the athletes he trains. I never once heard
a complaint or negative comment about all of the hard
work and dieting they endure in order to optimize their
training. A wise professor, named Overstreet once said,
"First arouse in the other person an eager want.
He who can do this has the whole world with him. He
who cannot walks a lonely way." I'd like to let
you all know that Steve has the world with him.
One last story that I would like to share is the lesson
of "The Wall of Fire". Steve explained that
in life many times we get to 80% of our goal and we
hit obstacles that appear insurmountable. He said that
the Buddhists call this "The Wall of Fire".
Most people usually give up at this point, but if you
have the fortitude and discipline, you can walk through
this wall and life will be more gratifying than you
ever imagined. In Steve's life, he had many walls offire
that he had to walk through and always persevered so
that he would enter the other side. I take this story
and message with me every day. Steve has not only turned
body-building into a science, but also into a unique
art form. I admire his creativity and genius.
Donald J. Wallace, D.C.
When I met Steve, the only thing I heard him say was,
"You need to bring your mind in line with your
body."
What did all this mean? I wasn't sure, but one of my
most memorable life experiences was about to begin.
He said it would take three to four months to get my
inner body to a level that would permit me to operate
efficiently. He was right!
When the going was tough he would say to me, "You
can do it!" He not only expects it, but he truly
knows tat you can do it. One learns that you must respect
the master, and he proves it to you all the time.
However, at first, he didn't tell me about the personal
growth I would experience through sharing our respective
life journeys. This personal expansion was not only
through my muscle, but through gaining a new mental
awareness as well. A man of worldliness was entering
my life.
The opportunity to work with this man is a life experience
that will stay with me for a long time to come. I now
know what he means when he said, "You need to bring
your mind in line with your body."

-In regards to: The impact you have on me and my brother's
lives
Dear Steve,
Steve I just want you to know how much I appreciate
and how grateful I am for your help. I want you to know
that I appreciate everything you do for me and I can't
thank you enough for all your help and guidance. Without
your help I would not have been able to get through
this process looking and feeling like I do. Most of
the things you have taught me apply to bodybuilding
but the most important teachings are the life lessons.
The lessons to always push through tough times and the
mentality to never give up are the real tools that you
have given me, and the ones I will cherish for the rest
of my life.
You are truly an inspiration to me. I look up to you
so much. One day I want to be just like you. But most
of all after everything I do I just want you to be proud
of me. You are the most amazing, inspirational, and
driven person I have ever met. If there is anything
I can ever do for you in return don't hesitate to ask.
You have changed me and both my brothers for the rest
of our lives. What you have done with James is amazing.
His whole outlook on life has changed and not to mention
the changes his body has taken. When I hear you talk
about your past it gives me goose bumps. I want to be
able to go through those same experiences and take bodybuilding
as far as I can. I want to be the best bodybuilder I
can be and you bring that out of me. I want you to know
just how much you inspire me.
I have so much respect for you and the life you have
lived. You give so much to this sport. Your determination
is unparallel. Nobody can do the things you have done.
I love the conversations we have together. You have
so much knowledge and instinctiveness when it comes
to bodybuilding and nutrition. I want you to train me
everyday because I know that will make me a champion.
I want to know as much as you do about the sport. I
think its great the things you have done for the sport
and how special this competition is to the people of
the gym and community. Everything you tell me to do
I do because I know it will work because you have done
it before. You always know how to make the biggest changes
in my training. I want to be a champion (just like you)
and I am willing to do whatever you tell me.
So in closing I just want you to know I am so thankful
for the opportunity to have you train me. I Anthony
and James are such better bodybuilders and people from
your teachings. I look forward to every workout with
you. You bring that fire and drive out of me. I wish
everyone could have someone like you in their life to
inspire them. I hope one day we can make some big accompiishments
together. Thank you for an your effort and time you
have spent with me. Thank you for all your teachings
and I can't wait to learn more from you. The one thing
you have said to me that has stuck with me and it means
so much to me is "suffer now so we can smile later".
It is such a fitting and meaningful quote. I cannot
wait to read your book I am going to memorize it and
I wish you all the greatest success with it you deserve
it.

(YOUR #1 FAN)
At least once a day since the fall of 1990, I somehow
thank Steve for changing - or rather saving my life.
I first met Steve at a gym in Port Washington, New York
totally by chance. At the time, I was suffering from
Sarcoidosis, an autoimmune disease that attacked my
lungs. Sarcoid had reduced my lung function to 45% of
normal capacity. The disease causes scar tissue to form
around the lungs, making it difficult (to say the least)
to breathe.
Until I met Steve, I had never exercised a day in my
life. I was never much interested in sports and weight
training. They were not only non-ideas to me but not
even words in my vocabulary. Conventional medical treatment
for Sarcoid was Prednisone and I was taking the drug
for more than a year and not getting better. I was physically
sick, depressed, fat and tired from the medication and
not optimistic about the future because I wasn't seeing
or feeling any positive results from the drug therapy.
Conversely, I saw myself showing more and more physical
signs of prolonged prednisone use. For reasons I was
not aware of, I dragged myself to the gym.
We've all heard the stories about how tough an s.o.b.
Steve was in the gym. I have to say that with me, he
was the most inspiring force imaginable. Within six
weeks of training with Steve, following his dietary
and nutritional guidance, and suffering through two
painful exercise sessions a week with him, my lung function
tested in the 90% range - almost normal lung function.
There were times when I would actually pass out and
Steve would catch me by the seat of my pants. There
were times when I would turn green and make mad dashes
to the bathroom to barf. Steve's nurturing and caring
kept me coming back again and again for more and more
training. I never once entertained the thought of quitting.
I was seeing and feeling results. I saw that Steve was
better for me than the North Shore doctors who were
treating me.
After six weeks, I went back to the lung doctor and
took the lung function test. When the doctor told me
the results, he had two things to say. The first was
that the change in my lung function must have been spontaneous
remission the disease. The second thing he said was
that maybe it was time to reduce the prednisone. I very
proudly told him that I had been working out with Steve
for the past six weeks and had stopped taking the medication
the first day I met him.
I do not look like a bodybuilder. I don't have Popeye
looking bulges. I'm healthy and I'm strong. My mental
focus is better than it has ever been. I trained with
Steve for about two years. My suit size initially went
from a 42 regular down to a 39 from fat loss. Then I
started growing. I blew past a size 42 and I remember
the beautiful suit I treated myself to when I measured
in at size 44. On problem; it got small on me very quickly.
All ofthe sudden I had a 46-inch chest and shoulders
that didn't droop. Nobody would confuse me with the
sickly man who could barely walk.
I thank Steve for being there for me in my years of
need and for leading me out of the darkness of illness
and into the beauty of physical well being.

As a busy, middle-aged physician that spends her demanding
days sitting and looking through a microscope, it can
be difficult to maintain a trim figure, and it began
to show. I began searching for a mentor and an inspiring
trainer that would help me achieve my fitness goals.
I found the best! As a trained pathologist, I "dissected"
his training method from a distance. I watched Steve
Michalik train body builders and housewives. I saw a
professional, passionate, methodical, caring individual,
as well as a demanding and disciplined teacher. I observed
him not only train but also motivate others to be the
best they can be!
I approached Steve and discussed with him my dreams
and goals. He instantly knew what it was that I should
do. He helped me formulate a dietary and exercise program
that put me back on track in a time-efficient manner.
Steve's broad understanding of the human body's physiology
and anatomy allows him to specifically target problem
areas with a professional and knowledgeable approach.
His workout is intense but definitely not insane. But
don't get me wrong, the training requires a strong will
and determination to endure multiple high volume, fast-tempo
reps, and vigorous non-stop supersets. Every muscle
is worked hard and consistently. The muscles are overloaded
by condensing more training into less time. The routine
is completed in under an hour. It is a superb combination
of aerobic and strength training exercises.
His technique helped me drop pounds and lose inches
off my waist, while developing a toned and muscular
body. I became not only physically strong, but also
emotionally balanced. My endurance and stamina have
grown exponentially. Honest, hard training sessions
were the key to my progress.
It is with a profound sense of confidence that I recommend
Steve Michalik's program to anyone that is seriously
interested in losing weight and achieving a healthy
lifestyle.
Patricia G. Tiscornia, M.D.
I met Steve Michalik two years ago when I was growing
frustrated with the lack of results of the usual body
training methods. I am a busy professional with limited
time for exercise. I was looking for somebody whom would
help me reach my goals in the most efficient way.
The workout method developed by Steve has helped transform
my body in unimaginable ways. It is a method that focuses
on high reps and proper technique done at a quick and
constant tempo. This practice helps improve flexibility
and strength while defining and toning ones' body.
Steve has an extensive knowledge of human physiology,
something that I can appreciate as a physician. He knows
just by looking at you the appropriate weight you should
be lifting. He heops control each of your movements,
allowing you to train without sustaining injuries. Every
workout is different. There is no monotony as is usually
experienced with other training routines. This is essential
because you always look forward to the next session
instead of dreading it.
On a personal level, he is pleasant, energetic and compassionate.
Despite his incredible personal achievements, he is
a down to earth and caring individual. Following Steve's
program - and a healthy diet -, I was able to lose inches
off my waist and decrease my body fat while increasing
muscle mass. These results gave me a more defined and
muscular body than I ever had before. It is with the
utmost confidence that I can say that Steve's program
is one of the best methods for getting into shape and
redefining ones' body and mind. I recommend it to everybody
without reservations.
Daniel H. Wasserman, M.D.
When I met Steve Michalik in March of2004, I was just
getting back into the gym after taking a year off -
just another one of the 'low' swings in my yo-yo dieting/fitness
mode that I had been blindly following for years.
I was horribly out of shape (again), weighing over 160
lbs. I was close to 200 several years earlier, and I
was on my way back up there. My eating habits were a
mess and I had recently quit smoking (again), so I was
gaining body fat much faster than usual. My self-esteem
was non-existent, and I quite honestly felt like crap.
Well, everything happens for a reason. It was destiny
that I was to actually get up the courage to call Steve
(I never hired a trainer before) and ask him for help.
And that my friends, "was the beginning of a beautiful
friendship..."
It's very hard for me to put into words how I feel about
Steve. How do you express your gratitude for someone
that has taken you from a monotonous, lack-luster, apathetic,
unhealthy, boring existence - to a vibrant, exciting,
energetic, happy and healthy lifestyle? Not to mention
grooming you to become a top-ranked natural bodybuilder
- all in a FEW SHORT MONTHS! I competed for the first
time at age 41, on September 11, 2004, at 123 lbs, under
9% body fat
And honestly, that's just scratching the surface. Steve
has taught me so much about lifethe apparent physical
benefits pale in comparison to the psychological strength
and well being that he instilled in me.
"The way out is the way through". I now understand
what Steve meant and I live it everyday. You can too.
Thank you Steve, for being you... For sharing your incredible
knowledge. For teaching me to be strong,
both physically and mentally.
For helping me to break
down the barriers and see clearly.
For helping me to disagree and go free.
And especially,
for being my most treasured friend.
Emy Bradley
2005 INBF Revolution Womens Masters Champion
Steve Michalik changed my life forever. At sixteen
years old, a freshman in high school, I was completely
out of shape. I played three different sports, but even
with all my activity, I couldn't lose any weight. I
was close to 300 Ibs and I wore a size 46 jean. I couldn't
understand why, even with so much activity I was still
so heavy. So I decided to see a professional. This was
when I met Steve.
Steve knew just what I needed to do and we began working
together three times a week. Little by little, I began
losing the weight. I couldn't believe it when, just
four months later, I was down to 180 Ibs and in size
32 jeans. Right then and there I felt I owed Steve the
world. I couldn't have been happier. But we didn't stop
there. It was January 20, 2004 when Steve asked me to
give him eight months and he would make me a champion
bodybuilder. His words were more than I could grasp,
but I believed in him so of course I said yes.
The next eight months were like boot camp. Every time
I thought I had Steve figured out, he would come at
me from a new direction. My body began developing faster
than I could have ever imagined.
On September 11, 2004, I competed in my first all natural
bodybuilding competition. I thought I was dreaming when
I was awarded the gold trophy for first place in the
teenage division. Not only was my body superior to all
my opponents, but with Steve's guidance, my posing,
my routine and my music made everyone else look unprepared.
Steve took me from a size 46, weighing 300 pounds, to
a size 29, with 1691bs with 2.8% body fat. I owe everything
to Steve and I don't know where I'd be without him.

Steve Michalik is a very unique individual and a one
of a kind trainer. He possesses characteristics that
not many other people posses. When Steve talks, everyone
around him will stop what they're doing to hear him
speak. He has the ability to motivate a person and make
them think that there is nothing they can't accomplish.
Steve does not only teach people about training and
nutrition, he teaches them about life. He teaches people
how to expect the best from themselves and to also persevere
through tough times. He teaches people a mentality that
being average is not enough, you must want more.
I have been weight training for a couple of years and
I consider that it was a waste of time until I started
training with Steve. His training principles work because
you train with an intensity you never thought possible.
Your mind says I can't do anymore, then you do 25 more
reps. I have never felt so alive and I owe it all to
Steve. With his guidance, I have been able to reach
goals I never thought possible. Not only I have been
able to lose a significant amount of fat and replace
it with pounds of muscle, but with his help I have been
able to become a bodybuilder and I'm mentally and physically
stronger than I ever thought possible. He is extremely
knowledgeable because he has been through it all. He
has conquered the barriers. Steve's influence has changed
my life for the better. I now know I have what it takes
to not only conquer physical and mental barriers in
the gym, but in life as well. With the knowledge and
motivation that Steve has given me, I know I can accomplish
anything I set my mind to.

My name is Linda Bove. Currently, I'm a stay at home
mom. After a long and proud career as a registered nurse,
marriage home and family has made it necessary to take
an extended sabbatical from my beloved profession. As
demanding as my nursing career was, I've found that
my current responsibilities require an exceedingly greater
amount of my time than I could possibly have predicted.
There seems to be time for everything and everyone but
myself. Exercise, especially, was put on the back burner.
I too was a victim of the eternal excuse. That was until
the I looked in the mirror and saw someone I didn't
know looking back at me! Something suddenly clicked,
or kicked - you know, like a kick in the pants. This
wasn't what I wanted. My family deserved better. I deserved
better. Within a few days of that life altering moment,
I joined the gym. I would "workout" 3 to 4
days a week - not bad right? Well a few months passed
and that same person was still in the mirror. What was
I doing wrong? I was exercising and I changed my eating
habits (somewhat), so what was the problem? I worked
harder at the gym, increased my cardio and hired a personal
trainer. Another year passed. The results - Nada! Naught
- Zilch - frustrating to the umpteenth degree!
Then I met Steve Michalik. I thought to myself, "Wow,
he looks great! He probably knows what he's doing."
Little did I know at the time how much of an understatement
that was. I approached him one day and asked if he could
HELP me. You see, Steve isn't your run of the mill body
builder/trainer. Noooooo...when you enter into "Michalik
Madness", you enter into a place where very few
have gone before. Within just afew short weeks I began
to see drastic changes in myself and my body. After
all the endless months of frustration, I couldn't believe
my results! Mr. Michalik doesn't just run your body
through a physical routine. He watches, listens, and
learns from both verbal and non-verbal communication.
His methods are revolutionary. As a registered nurse,
I felt I had a firm understanding of how the body works.
Steve gave me a real education. He teaches you about
yourself as well as your body. The combination is indeed
life altering. Intriguing, isn't it? Well it should
be.
There are still only 24 hours in a day, but besides
the fact that Steve's routines require a fraction of
the time I was investing before, I now have the energy,
strength and knowledge to handle my daily tasks more
efficiently. Most importantly, that awful person in
the mirror is finally gone!
Linda Bove R.N.
Steve Michalik is by far the biggest positive influence
in my life. Steve has made me a better person. He has
inspired me to be the best at whatever I may chose to
do in my life. He has taught me values and showed me
that there is no limitation to what I can accomplish.
Nothing is impossible with confidence and positive thinking.
You are what you think. He has taught me to believe
in myself and not to ever let any negative forces effect
my life.
His Intensity/Insanity workouts have not only changed
and improved my physical being, but my spiritual, social,
emotional, and mental health as well. Steve taught me
how training is 90% mental. Our body is not meant to
have a great build so it will turn to survival mode
and fight us every step of the way. When I'm training
and reach the point of failure, I know that the pain
is all in my head, not my muscles. Through Steve's guidance
I've learned to fight the voices. Or when I'm battling
an injury or stress in my life, I refuse to accept it
and don't let it bring me down. Stay focused and in
the clear. Steve philosophy has helped me to understand
what barriers are and how to "disagree and go free".
Because of Steve, I've become a more powerful person
both in and out of the gym.
Steve brings a new meaning to the word "intensity".
Steve showed me the meaning of training hard. He challenges
your mind as well as your muscles. There is nothing
more I look forward to than the challenge of one of
his workouts. No one has ever pushed me to the level
Steve has. Just Steve's presence makes me train harder.
Every workout is an opportunity to learn more about
myself and an opportunity to improve both mentally and
physically. Steve taught me that it is not how long
you train but how hard and intensely you train. Failure
is not an option.
Working with Steve has been an incredible experience.
I look forward to each new day to train hard and increase
my knowledge. Steve has steered me in the right direction
so I can lead a powerful and productive lifestyle, helping
others along the way. Learning from the best, I look
forward to making him proud by encouraging and helping
others reach their goals so they can truly "live
the life". To have the opportunity to be trained
and guided by Steve Michalik is an honor. I am thankful
everyday to have someone like Steve in my life.

When Steve's Book Comes LET ME KNOW ASAP!
- I plan on buying Three Copies -
One Copy - hopefully to have him Autograph & to
save
I will have to make it my personal mission while I'm
still living here on Long Island to find him and ask
him to autograph a copy - that way I can let him know
in person, just how much Information I gained from him
during those few years I trained at his Gym, and how
much I really looked up to him, and admired his accomplishments.
I want to also let him know that during those years
I listened so very closely to him whenever he would
speak - kind of like the old E.F Hutton commercials,
and I mentally took in all the information he ever said,
and to this day I can still recite back word for word
just about everything I ever heard him say - but during
those younger days, I never put all of what he said
to use - It wasn't until a few years later when I matured
mentally and was ready for the "REAL TRUTH"-
that It finally dawned on me that everything he ever
told me,... and everything I ever overheard him saying
- was the only way to get into the condition that it
took for me to win the NABBA Mr.USA title in 1994.
It took me about 10 - 12 stubborn years of my own trial
and errors, and at the end of every one of my "rocky
roads to discovery" - I would think back in my
mind - to my days of training at Steve's gym on Hempstead
Turnpike, and say to myself ----> "Steve Michalik
said exactly this.... and now I'm seeing that what he
said was absolutely right .....man that guy really knew
what the hell he was talking about!!" Allot of
people would tell me that he was crazy, but I finally
realized that those people were just too weak-minded
to realize that he spoke the truth............and the
truth was just too much for them to handle.
The Second Copy - will be to have as my own personal
reference book, for day to day reading
The Third copy - will be the One that I will allow other
people the privilege of "Looking at" (they
are not going to ruin my good copies!!! no sir!!!)
I miss those days - going to Steve's Gym, just being
a member of "Mr. America's BodyShoppe" ....
man that place was glorious, .... with all of the pictures
up on that Paneled Partition when the front doors first
opened up. And that "Road-Warrior" Leg Press
machine in the back, and Steve doing Giant Sets with
the ropes up, and the smell of Chicken from Zorns at
the front counter. There was nothing but weights and
Steves "extra-welded" machines. Everyone was
vascular and ripped and the only cardio-bike was in
the back room with dirty wet towels hanging on it ....
what an inspiration.... just to be there......his place
was the "REAL DEAL!"
.... you know .... I just got a chill up my neck when
I thought of the name:
"Mr. America's BodyShoppe"
Man that was theee place to be if you wanted to be a
"REAL BODYBUILDER"
There was nothing better, period! And back in those
days, boy did people shit when they found out I actually
trained there.
Training there ...... was the true "mark of a man"....
as they say in the movies..

1994 NABBA Mr. U.S.A.
For the past 7 years, I’ve always wanted to be
a competitive bodybuilder. I used to read all the magazines
and followed their workouts, diets, and supplement recommendations
in the hopes of one day becoming huge. Well, I got HUGE
all right – HUGE and FAT!!! My weight increased,
but I had zero muscle. At this point, I was a doughy
180lbs at 5’5”. I looked and felt terrible.
Lucky for me, at this time Steve Michalik began to setup
his training program at the gym where I worked out.
He coached a SuperTeam of natural bodybuilders using
his time-tested methods he developed from his decades
of experience in bodybuilding. Even though I was far
from looking like a bodybuilder, Steve agreed to help
me reach my full potential. It has, without a doubt,
been the greatest thing I ever could have done for myself.
When Steve began to coach me and teach me how to eat
and how to train in his “Intensity-Insanity”
method, I made leaps towards my goal of competing far
quicker and with more efficiency than any magazine could.
In eight months I went from being a fat nobody, to a
competitive bodybuilder at an NPC Show, to now the winning
my class at the NPC Metropolitan Championships. The
transformation, not only of my body but in my life,
was amazing. I’m still learning from Steve Michalik
to this day, and thanks to his personal one-on-one coaching,
I’m able to dream bigger and chase higher goals.
My only regret is that I didn’t meet Steve Michalik
seven years ago. Either way, thank you Steve for helping
me make all my dreams come true.
Sincerely,
Anthony Guido, NYPD
